You can rent a car at the airport at Don's Auto Rental: 1-242-345-0112 or Airport Auto Rental: 1-242-345-0090. We can give you all the directions you need to get you anywhere on the island. There are so many beaches that you could spend an entire year and never go to the same beach twice. Driving here is fun. You drive on the left hand side of the road!
One of the neatest things to do is ‘NOTHING!’ There are no phones ringing, no schedules to follow, no deadlines to meet. Your first night will be unique...it is so quiet you can hear the ocean waves hitting the shoreline.
In the George Town Area...

Shopping - There is a straw market located under the tree in the center of town where you can purchase t-shirts and hand made straw items, such as hats, purses, baskets and bags. There are also several small boutiques for jewelry, clothing, and other souvenirs.

Marina - Elizabeth Harbor has lots of sailing and power vessels to check out. Walk right out on the docks and take a look close-up or rent a boat for the day.
Touring - You can catch a water taxi from George Town, and cross the harbor to Stocking Island. Plan on spending a full day exploring the island. There is a restaurant there, or you can pack a picnic lunch. Lots of good shelling areas, hiking trails, and beautiful sandy beaches await you.

Restaurants - There are many restaurants and bars designed for meeting new people and dancing. The Two Turtles has an outdoor restaurant and tiki bar with music, a great place to sit, drink and people watch. Eddy's Edge Water Club is a restaurant and bar that features a Monday night entertainment called the Rake & Scrape. Live music and dancing like you have never seen before. Relax, enjoy, and have fun!
Other Islands & Points of Interest

Little Exuma - To the south, Great Exuma Island is connected to Little Exuma by a one-lane bridge. The Tropic of Cancer is located on Little Exuma. You should have your picture taken on this 20-degree meridian. William's Town is the site of one of the original cotton plantations. The old mansion still stands, and not far off is the foundation of the old slave barn. The family burial tombs are also nearby. You will want to stop and look at the old salt ponds that were part of the plantation. Salt was one of the major exports sent back to England.
As you are heading back to Great Exuma, there are many roads, most of them will lead to a beach, so don't be shy, take one and find out what is at the other end. Tourist exploration is always welcome!
Baraterre - Now let's go to the northern end of Great Exuma Island. Two small islands are connected to Exuma by causeways. You can drive all the way to a small community called Baraterre. It is home to the famous restaurant known as Fisherman's Inn. Lunch or dinner is worth the drive.

CoCo Plum - Now, on to the ‘prime jewel’ of Exuma, Coco Plum Beach. It is also known as 'Sand Dollar' beach and with good reason. You can pick up as many sand dollars as you can carry. Yes, there is a way to pack them so you can get them back home. We will be happy to show you!
For honeymooners, families, new retirees, a 'just the girls' beaching trip or a 'just the guys' fishing trip, Exuma has endless opportunities for outdoor adventurers...even if the extent of your adventure is an umbrella drink, a lawn chair, and a good book!
Snorkeling and Diving - There are as many wonderful places to snorkel and dive as there are beaches on this island. One of the best places to snorkel is on the large coral reef right in front of Breezy Hill. Lobster and beautiful reef fish are abundant as are multi-colored corals and underwater vegetation. Other neat places to snorkel are Anne’s Creek, the Southside of the island and Coco Plum Beach. If you don’t have your own gear, you can rent some from the dive shop in George Town.
Fishing - The fishing is fabulous in Exuma. You can fish from the shore, in the surf, on a charter-fishing trip, or rent a boat from the marina in George Town. Popular catches include bonefish, barracuda, tarpon, flounder, grouper, and even shark.
Lobstering - Our four boys grew up learning to fish and dive for lobster in front of Breezy Hill. And to this day, one of their favorite reasons to return to the island is to hunt for lobster. Using Hawaiian slings, they swim, snorkel, and dive all over the island catching dinner. You can too! The lobsters in the waters of Exuma are the biggest and best tasting in the world. You bring them home and we will show you how to clean and cook them for a meal you will never forget!

Scuba Diving - Guided dive trips are available from the dive shops in George Town. The trips explore the multiple blue holes and coral reefs around the island. Equipment rental, for self guided trips is also available on the island.
Boating - The marina in George Town has boats and kayaks for rent or you can take a guided fishing or diving excursion on a chartered boat.

Golf - The Greg Norman Championship golf course is now open and available for your golfing pleasure.
